Whole Life Insurance
Whole life insurance: coverage that lasts your whole life
Permanent protection with level premiums and cash value that can grow over time.
Free Consultation
Lifelong protection you do not outgrow
Whole life insurance is permanent coverage. As long as you pay the premiums, the policy is designed to stay in force for your entire life, so your beneficiaries receive a death benefit whenever you pass away.
Part of each premium builds cash value inside the policy on a guaranteed basis set by the carrier. You may be able to borrow against that value later, though loans and withdrawals reduce the death benefit and cash value.
- Coverage designed to last for life
- Premiums that are designed to stay level
- Cash value that can build over time
- Some policies may pay dividends (not guaranteed)

How it works
How whole life insurance works
You choose a death benefit and pay a level premium. The carrier guarantees the death benefit and a minimum cash value schedule, as long as premiums are paid as required. Because the coverage is permanent and builds value, whole life costs more than term life for the same death benefit.
Some whole life policies are “participating,” which means they may pay dividends. Dividends are never guaranteed, but when paid they can be taken in cash, used to reduce premiums, or used to buy more coverage.

Common uses
How families use whole life insurance
Families use whole life to leave a legacy for children or grandchildren, to make sure final expenses and estate costs are covered no matter when they happen, to provide for a family member with lifelong needs, or to pair with a term policy so part of their coverage never expires.
Whole life is a long-term commitment. Before you buy, Jay will walk through the premium, how the cash value is projected, and what happens if you need to stop paying, so you can decide with clear expectations. For tax or estate questions, talk with your CPA or attorney as well.

Questions
Frequently asked questions

Is whole life better than term life?
Neither is better for everyone. Term gives the most coverage per dollar for a set number of years. Whole life costs more but lasts for life and builds cash value. Many families use both.
Can I borrow from my whole life policy?
Many whole life policies let you borrow against the cash value. Unpaid loans and interest reduce the death benefit and cash value, and could cause the policy to lapse if not managed.
Are whole life premiums fixed?
On a traditional whole life policy, premiums are designed to stay level for life. Some policies are paid up over a shorter period, such as 10 or 20 years, or by age 65.
Are whole life dividends guaranteed?
No. Participating policies may pay dividends, but dividends are not guaranteed and depend on the carrier’s results.
