How a California Probate Sale Works

Probate starts when the court appoints an executor or administrator. With full IAEA authority, the representative can usually sell after giving the heirs a Notice of Proposed Action and time to object. Without it, the sale needs court confirmation: the judge reviews the offer at a hearing, and other buyers can bid more.
